| Me and my niece Ss, having picnic lunch at the place where we
our house in the mountain of Cerdenia (or we call it Ansan).

It was the year 2007 that I went up to the mountain were we built our farm house. It's been so long that I haven't been there and I felt emotional because I grew up the place until 5 years old and spent part of my childhood there. Then my father decided that we move to the town to live with my newly widowed Lola Lucia or we call her Popo (grandmother). I don't know why she was called Popo not Lola. My father was into politics and I could remember he won as a town councilor. So moving down town is also necessary as I overheard it with my parents talking. I was not excited thinking about moving because I will lose the simplicity of our place and my friends. I love our house there in Cerdenia because we had a lot of fruit trees that we enjoyed.
Anyways, I remembered we don't have TV, refrigerator except a radio and electricity was only the time when the feast day celebration of the Saint Santiago (we have our own electric generator but will run only when there is an occasion). I enjoyed the kind life playing with the children in the neighborhood, picking up the guavas in the garden, the lanzones, dalanghita (lemon), and our very sour grape (green and small). Well, the grape wasn't really impressive and I believe that all grapes are really sour. I also like when we harvest our kalamansi (lemonsito) as I am allowed to climb the tree (it was enjoyable). We had a lot of flowers too as Mother loves to plant different kinds of flowers in the garden like dahlias, azucena's, garlic flower, orchids was a lot, then in the veranda we had this succulent (donkey's tail) https://worldofsucculents.com/7-popular-hanging-succulent-plants/ but haven't seen the flowers. We had so many ornamental plants which makes our lawn beautiful and so the garden.
Sometimes, me and my sister Odette sneaked-out during nap time and went to the farm area where there are plenty of coconuts. She told me we will pick-up young coconut and eat it. Maybe I was 5 years old then and since I was small, she would climb the tree (oh! we will choose the tree which is not so tall). I waited below and she would grab whatever she could and throw it into the ground. We broke the young coconut by throwing into a stone as we missed the water except for the soft coconut shell. My sister would tell me, hey Ely you can eat the soft shell as it taste good. I obeyed my sister and I say.. yeah, it taste good but much better if we could have the meat. Actually, it wasn't taste good but she said so it taste good. After we ate the soft coconut shell, my sister would show her breast with a lot of scratches because she would hug the tree and slide herself down. I could tell it was painful and while we headed back to the house, she would say don't tell Mama, okey? I nodded to comply.
